Our Ethos

Our Ethos

Diagrama improves lives through a person-centred approach. We provide active support, so residents take part in meaningful activities and relationships. We support them to be as independent as possible, make their own choices and be involved and valued members of the community. We build on residents’ strengths and capabilities, irrespective of degree of disability.

We seek best practice to develop our service, for example through membership of the British Institute of Learning Disabilities (BILD).

All residents in our care are involved in planning and decision-making based on their abilities and what is important from their own perspective.

We focus on the core values of being non-judgemental, providing care and empathy and accepting each resident as a unique individual.

We recognise that in order to offer the best service the needs of the individual must lie at the heart of everything we do. This approach encourages our residents to flourish and have confidence as they recognise their own potential and self-worth. Many of our residents have complex needs and our staff work hard to build positive curative relationships with them to effectively support them.

Our staff pride themselves on their level of commitment and consistency with all residents. We strive to offer a safe ‘family’ environment for all who reside with us.
